In an ideal world, Beer & Brewer Magazine would have scratch and smell and scratch and taste elements to the pages, however we haven't come across this possibility to-date!

Beer & Brewer Expo, proudly brought to you by Dan Murphy’s, brings the magazine alive with the core elements presented by our celebrity cast. Join Jamil Zainasheff (USA) in our Home Brewing presentation area, brought to you by BREW Cellar, Ed ‘Fast Ed’ Halmagyi (Aus) in the Beer & Food Matching area, brought to you by Coopers and Chang, along with Roger Protz (UK) in the Beer Tasting Master Classes presentation area, brought to you by Dan Murphy’s. In your showbag at entry you will find a tasting glass to sample from over 100 full-flavoured local and imported beers from Broome to Colac and from Germany across to Thailand. The Expo is open to the public Friday 21st May, from 12 – 4pm and 5 - 9pm in The Atrium, Fed Square, with live demonstrations in Transport Hotel and Saturday 22nd May 11am - 5pm along the River Terrace, Fed Square, with live demonstrations in the BMW Edge presentation room.

To sample beer you will be given a 200mL tasting glass, and then you will need to purchase beer to sample from each Exhibitor. Tastings are expected to be around $2 per 100mL and $4 per 200mL. Live demonstrations are available to attend at an additional cost of $5 per 20-30 minute presentation, with no prior bookings taken, you need to line up and pay cash at the door.

Beer & Brewer Expo is a trade-only event on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st May both days from 11am – 4pm. These sessions are run to co-incide with the Australian International Beer Awards, the 2nd largest beer awards in the World. With so many brewers and suppliers in Melbourne for the Presentation Dinner, the Beer & Brewer Expo provides a platform for Exhibitors to network with current and prospective customers, and also to demonstrate new products and services. Forums will be conducted during each day at Transport Hotel on topics such as How to Build a Beer List, How to Approach the Beer Buyers both on- and off-premise and How to Start a Brewery or Beer Brand. Beer & Brewer Expo exercises the responsible service of alcohol and advises visitors to plan on tasting 20 x 100mL samples (approx 7 standard drinks) or less during a 4 hour session.
